Story

Brian Metcalf of KTGY’s Oakland Studio is making a difference by bringing hope to underserved families through the nonprofit organization, Convoy of Hope.

Brian served as the lead guest recruiter for The Day of Hope that took place on May 5, 2018 at the Alameda County Fairgrounds. The Day of Hope provides an opportunity for those in need to be partnered with various services to help them move toward a better life. Brian said, “This day offers hope that things can improve and that people care. Things I take for granted…a haircut and a new pair of shoes for example can lift up someone.”

Volunteers from KTGY Oakland donated their time to the event this past Saturday including Nick Soi, and his significant other Mhay Petalver, Javier Huizar, Marcus Dortch, Maria Khatri and Rodie Campanilla. “Our volunteers were awesome and made a difference in the lives of many families,” Brian said.

“I love this organization for what they do for the homeless and downcast in our neighborhoods. These events point people to services that can really help them, like resume writing and free eye exams. It is a great opportunity to get out there and help people feel loved and cared for. I feel blessed to be involved!” Brian said.  So awesome Brian!

Thank you, Brian, for Making a Difference!
