Story

Since 2013, KTGY’s Irvine office has partnered with Lennar to help HomeAid Orange County collect diapers for the local Orange County shelters to support families and their children who are homeless. Other builders have joined the cause and the event is now dubbed the “Builders for Babies” Diaper Drive. Families represent 63 percent of those living in Orange County shelters and they are in need of these basic essential items. In May 2015, the inaugural event, which took place at the former Los Angeles Times building in Costa Mesa, collected nearly 1.3 million diapers in one day. The KTGY-Lennar home was a Craftsman-style Bungalow, complete with roof trusses and interior design, and was constructed with 118 boxes of diapers donated by KTGY. KTGY was responsible for the design and drawings of the house. The diaper house was complete with shutters, columns, gable roofs, and a California room.  The event was attended by industry professionals, partners, consultants, and philanthropists and included a BBQ, raffle, and a variety of diaper houses.
