They replaced a 1940s single-family dwelling.

A single-family home dating to the 1940s in Mar Vista has bitten the dust, and a new development of townhomes has taken its place.

The property, located at 3277 S. Barrington Avenue, was approved in 2017 for the construction of four homes via the City of Los Angeles’ small lot subdivision ordinance.

The three-story houses, which occupy a corner lot at Barrington and Indianapolis Street, are being designed by KTGY Architecture + Planning according to city records.

Los Angeles County Assessor’s records indicate that the property is owned by the Harold and Eileen Brown Living Trust as of 2019.

The property was entitled for development by an entity managed by Raffi Cohen, a principal of developer Galaxy Commercial Holdings.

The development site is located less than a half-mile south of the intersection of Barrington and National Boulevard, where construction is now wrapping up on four-story, 48-unit apartment building with ground-floor commercial space.
