EBB Tide – MBK Opens Three-Story Townhomes

California home builder MBK Homes has announced the opening of Ebb Tide in Newport Beach, a new infill community of 81 modern residences situated on a 4.697-acre site. Prices start in the low $800,000s and the first phase of occupancy is planned for 3rd quarter 2017.
The company took a thoughtful approach to design to ensure that the higher density residences still felt very spacious, light, and open, says Rick Fletcher, vice president of sales and marketing. Each unit has a private landscaped backyard and rooftop deck–a rare find in Orange County and especially in a newly built home, he says.
Designed by Irvine-based KTGY Architecture + Planning, the three-story homes are offered in three floorplan options ranging in size from 1,708 square feet to 2,157 square feet with up to four bedrooms, four baths, second-floor balconies, an optional first-floor bedroom and “fourth-floor” rooftop decks spanning up to 800 square feet. The kitchens feature quartz countertops with designer-appointed finishes and Bertazzoni stainless steel gourmet appliances as well as tech necessities such as a USB charging station in the kitchen and advanced wiring with RG6 and CAT5 cables for high-speed connections. Energy-efficient features include dual-glazed vinyl windows with low-E, energy-saving glass, tankless water heaters, and water-conserving toilets. Each residence also includes a private backyard, two-car attached garage and interior laundry spaces.
The new community features easily-sustained landscaping designed by Laguna Hills-based Studio PAD with drought-tolerant plants specifically selected for the Southern California climate. The community also offers a resort-style pool and spa, BBQ, and connected outdoor gathering spaces.
Color selection, including trellis and outdoor structures, were selected by colorist Ann Matteson. The residences include a number of design choices paying homage to the coastal contemporary aesthetic of the surrounding neighborhood and businesses, with a series of creamy off-whites and soft grays as the main palette, and colors accenting the residences. Wider wood tile planks and concrete tiles act to complement the architecture while still maintaining a timeless appeal.
