First Look at City West’s 1150 Wilshire

February 21, 2018

KTGY Architecture + Planning has unveiled renderings for 1150 Wilshire, the latest mixed-use development planned in Downtown’s City West neighborhood.

Located at the southeast corner of Wilshire Boulevard and Lucas Avenue, the 14-story building will feature 140 condominiums above four levels of parking and approximately 6,500 square feet of ground-floor commercial space.  Plans call for open space amenity decks at the roof and podium levels, featuring a swimming pool and garden areas.  Other features will include a fitness center and a club room.

The project, which is being developed by PacTen Partners, will offer a mix of studio, one-, and two-bedroom dwellings, as well as penthouse suites and larger units at the upper levels.

KTGY describes the design as consisting of cubic shapes along three strong frontages – Wilshire, Lucas and Ingraham Street – with a parking podium that is flush with the building, rather than jutting out.  Exterior materials will include gray basalt stone at street level, with metal and glass building skin above.

1150 Wilshire is one a handful of high-rise developments planned west of the Harbor Freeway, joining a proposed 36-story building at Ingraham and Bixel Streets and a pair of towers fronting 7th Street.  Across the street at 1027 Wilshire Boulevard, construction recently began for a long-delayed nine-story development featuring apartments over retail.
