Ground Broken on Scripps Ranch Independent Living Project

Construction commenced on The Glen at Scripps Ranch, the first continuing care retirement community to be developed in San Diego in nearly 10 years. The independent living project is being built by an entity affiliated with Menlo Park, CA-based Spieker Senior Development Partners on a 53-acre site at 10718 Pomerado Rd.
Slated to open in late 2019, the property will offer independent living apartment-style homes and villas, as well as feature a complete package of services, activities, amenities and food service near a health center providing assisted living, memory care and skilled nursing. The plan encompasses 400 independent living units, a 92,000-square-foot health center and 60 skilled nursing beds.
Designed by Irvine, CA-based KTGY Architects, the community includes an on-site clubhouse with a variety of dining options. Other amenities include an indoor swimming pool, fitness center and spa, auditorium, short-game golf course, dog parks, and tennis and pickleball courts.
