High Snobiety

December 13, 2017

The latest project from Los Angeles-based architecture firm KTGY Architecture + Planning is tackling the city’s homeless crisis. Called Hope on Alvarado, the complex is made out of repurposed shipping containers to provide high quality yet low-cost housing for homeless residents.

The 84-unit building features a mix of studios and one-bedroom apartments ranging from 400 to 480 square feet in size. Each space is minimally designed and comes equipped with floor-to-ceiling windows.

The building will take up a .44-acre site at 166 Alvarado Street in Northwest LA. Construction is set to start in 2018, with the project expected to be completed by 2019. Browse architectural renderings of the apartment above.
