Panel Description
There is no shortage of discussion on the Baby Boomer generation and its impact on every industry, including seniors housing.  The boomer market provides an incredible opportunity.  However, tapping into this large market will require operators and their capital providers to look beyond current models. Future growth will stem from a deep, empathetic understanding of customers’ wants and unmet needs, and will require capital providers to see senior living as more than solely a real estate investment category.

Senior living investors and operators will be presented with research and examples centering on the needs and expectations of a new generation of customers in order to guide development of new products and services.

A presentation on attitudinal research will help distinguish incoming baby boomers from their GI and Silent Generation predecessors.  And, inspiring examples of new models and approaches that are successfully appealing to boomers in other industries will be explored.

Participants in this session can:

  • Discover research and principles of aging for baby boomers
  • Learn ways to develop an understanding of wants and unmet needs
  • Identify new products and services
