At 810 Pine Avenue, the new construction references the materials and geometry of the 1920s era craftsmanship, seen in the adjacent building, in a modern metal-clad facade with perforated panels. The use of glazing is more extensive as is appropriate for the contemporary design, and creates a light-filled atmosphere. The building engages the city in three distinct expressions: a grand lobby at the street level, the second level terrace which serves as the building’s front porch, and a rooftop garden and terrace with long views to the ocean.
