Lorena Heights Apartments

Lorena Heights Apartments, an urban infill rental community, provides 112 units of quality affordable housing in the Boyle Heights neighborhood of Los Angeles. Featuring both two and three-bedroom floor plans in two, four-story buildings, the community includes a picnic area, playground, and a community recreation center, which features the restored façade of a historic church that once occupied this site. The site contained many challenges including extensive environmental remediation, extensive exportation of soils, and major infrastructure work. Additionally, there was an elevation change of 70’ that had to be incorporated into the design. As a result, the buildings step down the hill and offer incredible scenic views of Downtown Los Angeles and the Hollywood Hills.
