Designing a mixed-use development requires a special skill set. Far from simply understanding the disparate pieces and putting them together, design for a mix of uses requires a unique understanding of the push-and-pull required for all of the pieces to co-exist and the trade-offs required, much like constructing an intricate puzzle.
