West Place

In a neighborhood bursting forth from its industrial past, minutes from the beach and around the corner from local shops, venues, art and entertainment, West Place Costa Mesa emerges as the place to live for young professionals. Two-story duplex homes and three-story townhomes make up the majority of the site and surround a central courtyard while six live-work lofts front Placentia Blvd. Being located amidst industrial buildings challenged the architects to take extra care with home placement, as to avoid unwanted views, and allowed them to pull design elements from the area creating truly unique homes. Ranging in size from 1,450-1,550 square feet and offering loft to two bedroom floorplans, every home is outfitted with green key technology. Walkability, high-performance energy efficient appliances and lighting, dual glaze windows with ultra-violet coasting, solar heat gain coefficient resistant screens, high solar reflective index roofing materials and structurally designed lumber saving beam and header systems allow the homeowner to live green without impacting their daily lives.
