The renovation of Marriott’s Hutchinson Island Beach Resort is part and parcel of the brand’s effort to reinvigorate this resort as a destination for weddings, family vacations and conferences. The refreshed interior design introduces a clean, contemporary aesthetic that strikes an inviting balance between a haven and a playground. Influenced by Florida’s colorful history, the concept introduces playful retro pastels, biophilic patterns and a continuity of design that moves guests from one experience to the next.
Each guest travels over a set of bridges to arrive in an immersive Floridian escape. The lobby’s statement pendants illuminate playful porch swing couches, and the communal guest workspace is shaded by a large sun sail. The resort is spread over the grounds like a seaside town, and the restaurant, Baha Grille, has the bright colors and relaxed charm of a Mexican fishing village. The ballrooms and meeting spaces make recurring use of mangrove trees and oysters in their patterns and flooring. From the lobby outward, the guests are guided by design threads running through each space, but each amenity’s unique identity has guests eagerly looking for more.
