Covington is a new open-air town center 30 miles southeast of Seattle and centered around a 20-acre lake created as the heart of the community in what was an old rock quarry. Set among parks and pathways, the architecture and planning reflect the community’s outdoor lifestyle and sensitivity to the environment. The design calls for individualized articulation of store fronts, awnings, wayfinding and prominent use of wood, stone and bold beams. With its strong sense of art, nature, and community pride, the center is a wonderful place to live, work and visit.
