KTGY Tysons – Together We Rise: Fundraising for Foster Children

Story

There are 400,000 children entering the foster care system each year. In many instances, children are asked to place their belongings in garbage bags to carry with them from one home to the next. Often, foster children receive hand me downs and do not receive new items to call their own.

KTGY, in collaboration with Together We Rise, exceeded our goal and were able to donate 30 bags to a local foster care agency for children between the ages of 3-10 years old. These brand-new duffel bags were filled with much-needed items of Comfort such as blankets, Hygiene such as toothbrushes and Activity such as markers and coloring books.

A huge thank you to all who participated in painting the bags (they look awesome), donating money and/or donating time to help fill all the bags!
