Cypress Equity Investments, a national multifamily developer, announced completion of Revel, its 300-unit, transit-oriented apartment development in Aurora; the community is within walking distance of the RTD’s Second Avenue and Abilene station.

KTGY designed Revel, which is located in the City Center North neighborhood. In contrast to its more traditional and suburban environment, Revel conveys a modern and urban aesthetic “The design was inspired by the team’s desire to bring something fresh and exciting to the City Center North neighborhood in Aurora,” said KTGY Principal Nathan Sciara, AIA. “KTGY brought forward a modern and urban aesthetic. The four-story buildings feature flat roofs, large, lofty windows, projecting steel cable balconies and a high-contrast color palette with pops of color and warm undertones found in the brick.

“It was important for us to integrate the buildings as thoughtfully as possible into the steeply graded site,” added Sciarra. “A combination of building steps, strategically placed retaining walls, and basement-level garages were used to accomplish this goal and create a seamless community that promotes active mobility.”

The new luxury community consists of five four-story residential buildings and a clubhouse spread across 8.14 acres with landscaping designed by Norris Design.

CEI was able to build and deliver Revel in phases due to its multibuilding garden-style layout. Constructed by Colorado-based Brinkman Construction, Revel’s first phase broke ground in the fourth-quarter 2019 and opened to residents in December of 2021.

“Since its groundbreaking three years ago, the development of Revel and the market’s response to it have been outstanding, and the community represents a great first step in our efforts to grow our local portfolio and bring much needed quality housing to the region,” stated Beau Breck, CEI’s senior vice president of development for the region. “Our strategy of developing near transportation corridors allows us to deliver full-service, luxury apartment homes on par with the finest in the urban core to neighboring communities at more attainable prices.”

With interiors and amenities designed by ESG, Revel features a two-story clubhouse and outdoor recreational spaces where residents enjoy a full suite of resort-style amenities. The clubhouse’s floor-to-ceiling windows fill the double-volume interior with natural light. Key amenities include work-from-home suites; a 24/7 fitness center; a separate fitness-on-demand room; a clubroom with spacious events kitchen; a resident lounge with conference space and coworking areas; and a pet spa and dog run.

Outdoor amenities include an outdoor kitchen, a resort-style pool with sun shelf, cabanas, and hot tub, and a private pocket park with activated edges allowing residents a place for passive play and recreation. The garden-style community features a mix of private garages and ample surface and covered parking.
