When it was adopted in 2014, the Broadway Valdez District Specific Plan sought to build upon the area’s assets, transforming the corridor into a vibrant neighborhood replete with retail, housing, transit and walkable streets. Five years later, the 95-acre district is quickly moving beyond its past as Oakland’s “Auto Row,” with a number of completed development projects already flourishing and several more under construction.
