The creation of affordable housing–of various kinds– is one of Los Angeles’ most pressing issues. Yet affordable housing remains one of the most complex types of housing for architects for a variety of reasons. In this webinar, Mark Oberholzer of KTGY and Daniel Nay of GGA+ Architects will walk participants through recent work, including projects built with conventional as well as modular technologies. Each project presents an interesting window into the world of affordable housing, and will illustrate both challenges common across many affordable projects, as well as specific challenges and solutions that are individual to each project.

Learning Objectives:
+ Gain insights into critical aspects of the design of affordable housing.
+ Understand current aspects of complying with a variety of local AHJs.
+ Discover opportunites and challenges of designing with alternate construction technologies.
+ Explore how the program specifics of affordable housing drive aspects of the design.
