Three D.C. area projects earn 2016 Great American Living Awards

KTGY Architecture + Planning earned top honors at this years GALA program
The Great American Living Awards (GALA) program has recognized innovative and well-designed projects in the D.C. Metro area for over 50 years now. This year, one of the firms that took top honors was international award-winning KTGY Architecture + Planning, who won two Grand Awards and one Award of Merit in the Design and Architecture category.
The awards were presented by the Northern Virginia Building Industry Association, the Washington Metropolitan Sales and Marketing Council, and the Maryland Building Industry Association.

Grand Award for Best Design & Architecture, Attached Home, including Townhouses:
Grand Central at Signal Hill Station
Manassas, Virginia
Built by Miller & Smith, this project features an approximately 2,300-square-foot townhome with a two-car garage. Inside, there are three to four bedrooms, a gourmet kitchen, and a screened porch. There is also a “significant rear yard.”

Alexandria, Virginia
Just 15 minutes south of Washington, D.C., this Bozzuto Group-developed property offers amenities like a 2,200-square-foot fitness facility, meeting room, and a Package Concierge digital package locker system. There is also a dog wash and dog bar.

Award of Merit for Design & Architecture, Detached Home on Lots Under 7,000 Square Feet:
Hartwood at Embrey Mill
Stafford, Virginia
Inside this home, there is an expansive kitchen with a large center island as well as a great room with a fireplace. A gathering room on the main level also allows homebuyers to utilize the space as a lounge, living room, private study, or playroom. A bay window and expanded walk-in closet are optional for the owner’s suite. This project was built by Miller & Smith.
