Surrounded by single-family neighborhoods with strict HOAs, KTGY’s architects were challenged to create a community that melded with its desert surroundings and didn’t feel intrusive to the nearby areas. By limiting its height, utilizing natural materials like stone cladding, and implementing a neutral color palette with small pops of orange, Avenida Palm Desert perfectly blends into the locality while still maintaining a lively and inviting atmosphere. When limiting the height, the architects took advantage of the site’s slope to carve out another half-story for walk-out basements in select units and an indoor lounge that connects the main pool deck and outdoor recreation spaces. With three outdoor courtyards, recreation lawns, a sculpture garden, dog park, community gardens, firepit and outdoor grilling and dining stations, Avenida Palm Desert provides the perfect home for age-targeted residents and their guests.
