Story

Located just east of downtown Los Angeles, One Santa Fe is an emblem for the outgrowth of the increasingly creative development of East Los Angeles. Northeast of the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc), the apartments provide both a novel programmatic combination of diverse building elements in the formerly industrial area and is an alternative form to existing patterns of development. One Santa Fe creates a horizontal bar that that reinforces and expands upon the areas overwhelmingly sequential field of linear urban forms including the Los Angeles River, MTA rail lines, and the renovated freight depot that is the SCI-Arc facility.
