St. Anton Apartments

As the first community developed as part of the Tasman East Specific Plan area, St. Anton Apartments delivers a new 100 percent affordable apartment community, housing low-income and very low-income residents to the city of Santa Clara. The Tasman East Specific Plan creates the framework for the development of a high-density transit-oriented neighborhood, with St. Anton Apartments delivering the first residential units to the specific plan prioritizing public transit and providing an efficient living scenario for young professionals. With close to 20 percent of the units allocated as very low-income and the remaining units for low-income tenants, the large number of studio and one-bedroom units built on the 1.2-acre site allow for the delivery of attainable residences, addressing the city’s need for affordable housing. Stucco and fiber cement panels are utilized to articulate the facade while brick veneer along the base creates a pedestrian scale for this six-story building. The bold siding-clad massing gestures from the front of Calle Del Mundo with brick finishes and residential patios sitting adjacent to the public sidewalk. The siding pattern of the joinery at the building entry is highlighted at the corner of Calle Del Mundo and the future Lickmill Light Rail Station that sits adjacent to the residences. The six-story community offers amenities including a podium deck, clubroom, dog run, fitness center, as well as a classroom and business center where residents can participate in instructor-led classes that range from general education to health and wellness or skill-building. The surrounding neighborhood provides connections to the existing Guadalupe River trail, locations for parkland, improved access to transit and walkability to Levi Stadium, home of the San Francisco 49ers.
