Wheaton Eye Clinic
Wheaton, IL
Healthcare
This project was part of a four-phase renovation project of the original 1970’s clinic to increase operating revenue by increasing the space utilization and organizational functions within the clinic. This phase involved the renovation of the existing basement records storage area into a Conference Center/ Board Room with an employee lounge. The project utilized glass partitions to increase visual sightlines and openness of the lower level space. The use of the glass partitions also increased overall light levels within the space to enhance employee functions as well as the aesthetic value of the space. LED lighting and LEED-sensitive materials selections were part of the sustainable design efforts. The scope of the project included installation of an elevator in the existing building to allow for ADA access to new Conference Center. Existing mechanical systems were relocated and upgraded to allow for increase ceiling heights. The project was completed while maintaining full operations of the clinic. One of the most distinguished eye clinics in the nation, Wheaton Eye Clinic offers world-class medical and surgical care to patients.
