    Design and architectural services were provided for the renovation of the original eye clinic facility built in the late 1970s as part of a four-phase master plan to bring increased efficiency to the practice and upgrade the patient experience. Phase 2 of this project consisted of the renovation of the Pediatric and Retina departments. The existing floor slab and underground drainage had to be replaced since original system was removing soil base and allowing floor to sink. The curtain wall adjacent to the waiting area was replaced to improve daylight quality and performance of mechanical systems. New custom designed Pediatric lanes allowed for the addition of one new exam room within the existing project area. The new design improves circulation and efficiency of staff areas for both departments. The project also incorporated
    energy efficient upgrades to the building envelope and interior LED lighting to reduce operational cost for the clinic over the next several years. The project was completed while maintaining operations. One of the most distinguished eye clinics in the nation, Wheaton Eye Clinic offers world-class medical and surgical care to patients.
