Yokohl Ranch encompasses approximately 36,000 acres in the Sierra Nevada foothills, within the unincorporated area of Tulare County. Due to its rocky soils and shallow soil depths, the property is not suitable for high quality orchard, row crop or other intensive agricultural uses. Instead, the property has historically been used for cattle grazing and ranching as well as ranch family housing and support facilities. Yokohl Ranch is envisioned to be a planned community of neighborhoods that features a variety of residential uses, a mixed-use Town Center, a neighborhood commercial center, a resort lodge enclave, recreational facilities, continued ranching operations, and extensive preservation of open space. Of the 36,000-acre property, approximately 82% of the land is envisioned to remain undeveloped as ranch land or open space. The community will be developed in three phases, with a build-out of 10,000 new homes.
