Residents coming home to the comfort of a snug mountain lodge will feel as though 2121 W. Main Street was made just for them. It is the coordinated, collaborative efforts of our architecture and interior design teams that make this place an elevated but contextual development that gives residents a modern experience of life in the Rockies. The structure is familiar and uncomplicated, fitting Montanans. The development consists of two buildings: a larger wrap building that arches over a pedestrian paseo, and a smaller walk up with tuck-under parking. The design makes for a smart parking solution and a unit mix oriented to young professionals. A transitional facade creates horizontal variation through setbacks, color and material changes. This regular horizontal motion varies the massing and transitions between this development and the neighborhood around it.
The interior concept elevates the standard for multifamily living, with the aesthetic direction of a contemporary mountain lodge, pushed to its limits with eye-catching moments and elevated materials. Montana’s big sky is reflected in a wide-open floor plan, carefully coordinated with structural engineering to keep the clear spans and open space. The natural landscape informs materials and a sense of adventure permeates the space. Leather detailing enlivens the lobby, lounge, coworking space and demo kitchen, imparting a sense of outdoor adventure. The lobby is grounded with a colorful hair-on-hide piece depicting a bison. The lounge centers on a statement fireplace with built in seating, backed by stacked wood installations and anchored by stone detailing. Even the mail room is given an elevated touch with integrated lighting, black metal shelves and leather accents.
