Deco 969 is a first-of-its-kind development for Fort Worth, Texas — an infill high rise designed, from the ground up, for today’s urban tenant. Featuring spacious layouts, generous amenities, unparalleled views, and four floors of luxurious penthouse units, the new building strengthens the urban fabric of downtown Fort Worth. Ground floor restaurant space, detailing, and landscaping all work to provide a rich pedestrian experience that complements the area and respects the nearby John F. Kennedy Tribute Memorial. Paying homage to Fort Worth’s greatest art deco architecture, Deco 969 is an aesthetic transition between historic weight and future potential.
The L-shaped site did much to drive the design. The tower footprint fills the L up t o the 24th floor where one leg drops off to give the amenity deck unimpeded views and sun exposure. The primary mass of the tower is limestone and glass, meeting a horizontal expression of the same at the base of the building. A palette of dark bronze, brown, and tan compliments the surrounding cityscape, and a twelve-by-fifty-foot stainless steel art piece celebrates the main entry with a monumental quality.
