VAI is a unique destination resort styled entirely around music, live performance, and the rockstar experience. Isla 8 is a spectacular hotel tower overflowing with amenities. The building faces the massive manmade lagoon and accommodates everyone from families with small children to VIPs. Our interior design studio looked to music’s basic physical form, the wave, for inspiration and unified the resort’s live-performance and beach scenes with fluid, inspired spaces that keep guests anticipating the next delight.
Each guest enters through Isla 8’s lobby, and the interior designers worked within the existing architecture to soften hard lines and turn the structural staircase into a statement. The lobby is a place of connection with its own piano lounge, bar and concert viewing, decked in warm amber light and gold finishes. The steakhouse is a luxe space with surprises around every corner.With its sanguine color palette, rich textures and indirect lighting; the space surprises guests with a sushi bar, performance lounge, and front-row concert seating behind a glazed wall. Like verse, chorus and bridge each unique space flows into the next. A secret passage transports guests from the texture-rich steakhouse to the light and airy fairy-garden champagne bar. Throughout the night, whether they’re stopping at the moody cigar lounge or taking in the nonstop shows from a stunning skybox, guests will have every opportunity to touch, see and experience the music around them.
