Creating a retreat for residents and sitting adjacent to retail, KTGY’s architects designed Forney Gateway West to appeal to the young professionals seeking resort style living and integrated open space in the growing suburbs of Dallas, Texas. Flanked by two main streets, material and color changes concentrate on the public facing facades while larger moves draw attention to the corners. Warm wood panels accent the entry to the lobby and large expanses of glass create visual connections. The wood paneling continues along an external pathway inviting residents and guests into the open amenity spaces beyond.
The development is broken down into smaller buildings oriented around pockets in internal green spaces. This allows the buildings to function as privacy screens between the residential retreats and the unlimited development potential beyond. A resort style pool and lounge deck complete with grill stations and a small lawn off the fitness center act as the heart of the community calling residents to gather.
