Hope on Broadway, located in the city of Los Angeles, is one in a series of Hope On developments utilizing innovative construction techniques to deliver transitional housing with speed and efficiency for the nearly 36,300 homeless individuals in the city. Designed utilizing purpose-factory-built modules the monochrome color palette emphasizes the structural texture of the construction material. Additional texture is added on site, including a perforated steel entry canopy and sun shading. Large expanses of glass allow sunlight into the residential units, expanding the spaces and providing visual connectivity to the city. The modular residential units sit atop the site-built concrete podium that contains parking at the rear of the site and residential amenities and supportive services fronting the street. Parking requirement was reduced in compliance with the City of Los Angeles Transit Oriented Community standards.
