Winners of this year’s Gold Nugget awards were announced Thursday at the California Building Industry Association’s Pacific Coast Builders Conference in San Francisco.

Earning a Grand Award in the Best Senior Housing Community — On the Boards (under development) category was 810 Pine Ave., a 78-unit, high-rise assisted living building in Long Beach, CA.

The builder on the project is Global Premier Development, the developer is Global Premier Development, and the architect and planner is KTGY Architecture + Planning.

The new building will be constructed on a surface parking lot serving the adjacent historic office building being renovated by the same developer, KTGY said.

“Companion buildings offer city living for seniors with a continuum of care, ranging from assisted living to memory care,” according to the firm. “Shared garage and separate circulation lobbies allow for efficient movement to both buildings while preserving their unique identities.”

The building features a grand lobby at the street level, and a second-level terrace serves as the building’s front porch, KTGY said. A rooftop garden and terrace offer views to the ocean.

“This new senior community is planned so residents have vibrant common living areas that combine with the retreat of private rooms to make a home,” according to the company.
