Start with a critical need for more and better housing, add escalating costs, labor shortages, material scarcity and the need for real sustainability. Architects, engineers, manufacturers and constructors have been perfecting existing construction methods, but also developing new ones. Since 2016, KTGY has been working on advancing innovative construction types – including light gauge steel, mass timber and volumetric modular for a variety of affordable, market rate and hospitality projects. Each of these construction types can offer different advantages when used in the right place at the right time by an experienced, collaborative team.
