Located within the master plan community of Warm Springs, Lumiere delivers a contemporary condominium community with an urban feel that aligns the transit-oriented community’s dynamic theme of innovation. The white form mimics a snaking movement inspired by transportation and BART track. The building plan’s stacked flat design allows for single level living at an attached price point with each unit accessible by elevator and common corridor. This master-planned community in Fremont embraces the innovation, entrepreneurship, and collaborative intelligence of its Silicon Valley surroundings. To create incredible visual variety and changes in scale as you move throughout the neighborhood, we scaled up the spaces and put the larger buildings to the public/urban edges more dominated by car traffic and the smaller three-story homes to the center of each area where traffic is slower or more pedestrian oriented. Dynamic outdoor spaces are incorporated while also using bright colors, new or existing materials in new ways along with larger architectural gestures and subtractive architecture moments to create shade and shadow. With young, tech-savvy homebuyers in mind, each collection of homes was designed to blend contemporary living with everyday spaces to deliver the style and individuality they crave with nearby BART and freeway access for easy commuting across the Bay Area.
